Garden Flowers #2
Gardening took on a new depth and meaning for me during the lockdowns of 2020. My patio became my oasis, a blissful space to zone out and boost my mental health. There have always been trees and shrubs out there, then I added herbs and would randomly dabble in tomatoes. But recently, I took on the delight of growing flowers. Flowers to brighten a mood, to bring inside and to share with friends. In two short years my garden has grown to embrace shasta daisies, red zinnias, French marigolds, echinacea, peonies and the heavenly scent of phlox. I’m not the only one enjoying this bounty; chickadees, hummingbirds, honey bees and butterflies dance and play all day long. I’m full of gratitude for this rich community of nature and for the opportunity to dig my hands in and soothe my mind. #gardeningismytherapy
