Published July 30, 2013 -- Enamoured by blue and gold, my eye can't help but land in the vicinity of these complementary colours. On an evening visit to the Legacy Liquor Store in the Athlete's Village Vancouver, there were literally thousands of bottles and colours and labels and textures but what do I notice? Yes, blue and gold.
Complementary colours are colours that are opposite each other in the colours wheel. When mixed together, complementary colours produce a neutral such as white, grey or black. So, they are opposite AND they work together towards neutrality. Interesting. That's a concept worth noting, not specifically just for fine art photography but what about applying that in society? Just saying.
